The Mental Health Nurse provides care and treatment to those experiencing mental, behavioral, psychological, spiritual and physical distress. The nurse recognizes the complexity of care required in the psychiatric patient and is able to assist with developing a partnership with the patient to employ patient goals that may include renewing hope, involvement in meaningful activities, becoming empowered, overcoming social barriers to inclusion and managing symptoms.
