The University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) is seeking a Chief Care Coordination leader to support its missions of health care, academics and research. UMMC is located in Jackson, Miss., and serves UMMC’s multiple sites throughout the state.
UMMC is the state’s only academic health science center and the second-largest employer in Mississippi with approximately 10,000 employees. Position Summary:
In this role, you will provide strategic oversight and direct all operational activities related to Utilization Review, Patient Placement Center, and Coordinated care, (Case Management/Social Work). Collaborates with hospital and provider leadership to facilitate patient throughput, coordination of care, and associated documentation. Facilitates the development of post-acute care models. Ensures compliance with hospital, TJC, and other regulatory authorities. Provides support and guidance to other UMMC facilities in the areas of care coordination, utilization review and social work.
You must have an in-depth knowledge of admission/registration procedures, leadership skills and change management. Demonstrated understanding inpatient and outpatient flow processes. Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique and the coordination of people and resources. Organizational, analytical, and problem resolution skills. Verbal and written communication skills.
Must have the ability to develop and implement strategies for post-acute care. Ability to build and sustain relationships with senior leaders, community providers and organizations and employees. Ability to work across organizational and functional boundaries.
Education and Experience:
Master’s degree in Nursing, Business, Health Care, Social Work or related field. Minimum of seven (7) years progressive leadership experience. Experience cannot be substituted for educational requirement.
