We're looking for someone to join our team as a Performance Improvement Nurse who:
Manages the data collection for submission to regulatory agency databases, as well as studies, research, or projects requiring data collection to evaluate practice patterns, interventions, outcomes, and regulatory agency compliance. Also assists with the peer review process, preparing case summaries, and timelines. Supervises staff and monitors appropriate staffing and budgets.
Supports nursing departments, ancillary departments and medical staff processes for designing, measuring, assessing and improving performance in accordance with the organization-wide plan for performance improvement and quality standards. Ensures accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of error correction and submission for the monthly data extraction and upload cycle.
Prepares aggregate trended reports for internal review.
Monitors the medical record validation process. Ensures all requirements are met and completed within specified timeframes.
Validates charts abstracted for completeness, accuracy, and timeliness in compliance with the specification manual.
Instructs new personnel on job duties and assignments. Contributes to and supports staff development. Completes periodic evaluations of personnel supervised. Exercises independent judgment in supervising and responsibly directing assigned personnel. Disciplines personnel, when deems appropriate, through the issuance of oral and written coaching, counseling up to and including termination.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
You'll be successful with the following qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree (BSN): Preferred
Clinical experience in a critical care setting: Preferred
Experience in chart audits: Preferred
Quality improvement experience: Preferred
Nurse Practitioner (NP): Preferred
Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in state of practice: Required
