The Licensed Professional Mental Health Counselor (LPMHC) practices in the Behavioral Health clinical settings to provide mental health services as the licensed professional counselor. In this position the duties include serving as the Primary Mental Health Treatment Coordinator, care/case manager and counselor to a patient population with highly complex health and mental health problems. The incumbent performs specialized treatment of complex physical and mental illness for Veterans in the Behavioral Health clinical settings as Lebanon or its Veterans Administration Community Clinics (VACC), or within the Primary Care settings. Function with supervisory oversight from the outpatient manager. Demonstrate significantly advanced clinical skills and be able to function independently. Make psychosocial assessments, providing case management and provide counseling. Coordinate care for patients in the outpatient unit Function as the Primary Mental Health Treatment Coordinator for outpatient Veterans Provide individual and group counseling Consult with other program areas and staff as appropriate and, measurement based care. Provide services that assess the continuum of care. Consult with colleagues and students on the psychosocial treatment of patients treated i the specialty area. Render professional opinions based on experience and expertise and role modeling effective clinical practice skills. Demonstrate the ability to teach and mentor staff and students in the special area practice. Participate fully in peer review, assessing the quality of professional practice standards provided in the organization. Represent the Behavioral Health Clinic on various internal committees and task forces as requested. Participate in system redesign program by reviewing processes and suggesting and implementing improvements in quality, efficiency and patient satisfaction. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., though weekends and nightshifts may be required if Veteran needs arise.
