The PDT IT Business Partner (ITBP) has the overall responsibility to proactively serve as a "trusted advisor," and primary IT point of contact to the assigned PDT business function. The ITBP operates as the key business contact representing IT in promoting IT services and capabilities for the purpose of business technology strategy development, solution discovery and relationship management.Â The ITBP:
Partners with business leadership and other key stakeholders to define opportunities and identify and prioritize projects.Â Serve as the lead role in enabling the business to achieve their objectives through the effective use of technology.
Focuses on strategic initiatives and planning activities for assigned business function. Strive to understand market challenges and competitive issues. ITBP facilitates the investment intake process and the high level planning and execution of business technology initiatives.
Serves as the business relationship link between other functional and IT areas as well as within the PDT IT team. The ITBP provides highly valued strategic consulting level support and guidance through key IT initiatives.
Communicates decisions, priorities and relevant project information to appropriate levels of staff regarding IT requests, projects and initiatives. Proactively shares knowledge of technology risks and opportunities to build competitive advantage and improve efficiency and effectiveness of assigned functional area.
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders in assigned functional area to ensure IT - Business alignment at strategic, tactical and operational level.
Responsible for the development and implementation of solution roadmaps.
Provide input into annual IT budget for respective functional areas.
Develop solution concepts and business cases for new investments.
Perform business analysis and prepare recommendations and business plans as needed.Â
Act as the key liaison for functional area with the other IT teams and outside vendors.
Oversee the launch of solutions and help to maximize the positive impact on the organization.
Identify, screen and evaluate new solution opportunities to address unmet business needs.
Possess strong analytical skills, including an understanding of business economics and financial resources.
Collaborate with architecture and operations teams to ensure solution compatibility with company standards.
Collaborate with the Project Management Office on the intake process and submission of business cases.
Proactively seek opportunities to streamline and simplify the systems environment through platform adoption, system rationalization, effective data management, etc.

ITBPs are proactive and anticipatory in their thinking and driven to provide significant value to business units.
Background in technology modernization, digitalization and application rationalization efforts by bringing emerging trends and technologies to the business with opinions for how those trends can solve business challenges and/or facilitate growth
Experience maximizing the impact for the organization including technologies within the area of emerging technology, digital, data and analytics
Experience with full software development life cycle in regulated environment (FDA, GxP, HIPAA, SOX, GDPR and other data privacy, computer system validation, a plus)
EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS
Bachelor's degree in Computer Sciences, Life Sciences, Business or related subject matter.
Minimum 6+ years of information management and/or related work experience in Biotech/Pharmaceutical industry
5+ years of working experience managing medium to large external service provider partnerships within Pharmaceutical and/or Biotech environment
Experience with medium IT projects from start to end
Strong knowledge of information management, data quality, data constraints and Governance Frameworks
Proven leadership and management capability
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with ability to listen and influence stakeholders at all levels
Ability to engage effectively with colleagues and senior business stakeholders
Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and a high level of organization skills
Experience in budget planning and financial management.
Background in R&D IT and experience with R&D IT systems preferred
Travel Requirements â Ability to travel up to 20%, internationally as required
