Oncocyte is hiring successful, mission driven professionals to its team to drive the clinical adoption of its tests. The Company recently received CMS coverage for DetermaRx™, the first and only predictive test for the identification of early-stage lung cancer patients at high risk for recurrence post-resection, who may respond to chemotherapy. Oncocyte is also developing DetermaIO™, a molecular test that has demonstrated incremental utility in predicting response to checkpoint inhibitors beyond PD-L1 and TMB in multiple cancer types.
Mission of the role:
The primary role of the Senior Manager of Medical Education is to drive clinical adoption of Oncocyte’s precision oncology tests with compelling educational content conveying clinical utility and differentiation. Efforts will be initially focused on DetermaRx, the first and only predictive molecular test for early stage non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). The Senior Manager of Medical Education will develop and maintain relationships with academic and community-based key opinion leader (KOL) physicians and develop peer-to-peer education programs to promote awareness and adoption of Oncocyte’s tests.
The role will be Field/Home Office-based.
As a Senior Manager of Medical Education, you will:
Identify, develop and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key academic and community physicians focusing on NCCN and NCI centers and large community systems including IDNs and VAs, to provide education and promote clinical adoption of Oncocyte’s novel tests
In collaboration with Sales and Marketing teams, present to academic and community physician and health care provider audiences to drive clinical adoption of Oncocyte’s molecular diagnostics tests
Identify and position KOLs to present at national and regional scientific forums and educate their peers about oncology molecular diagnostics
Provide content writing support to physicians/internal presenters at scientific forums such as conference symposia, webinars, grand rounds and CME events
Collaborate on the development of clinical and scientific educational content including slide decks, brochures, case reports, test specifications sheets, clinical reports, and digital content (website, social media, blogs, e-mail campaigns)
Collaborate with Medical Affairs to mobilize the timely submission of abstracts and publications
Facilitate opportunities for Marketing and Medical Affairs teams to partner with KOLs for medical advisory boards, user group meetings, scientific forums and PR events.
Function as a primary clinical and scientific resource to the Sales and Marketing teams
Identify opportunities for research collaborations that support Oncocyte’s mission
In collaboration with KOLs identify and present new product concepts to drive the growth of Oncocyte’s oncology portfolio
To Be Successful, You Will Need the Following Qualifications and Desired Skills:
Strong scientific and technical knowledge of complex molecular diagnostics for oncology and their clinical applications
Excellent knowledge of cancer treatment, including targeted therapy, immunotherapy and monitoring
Superior oral presentation skills and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively to a wide range of stakeholders
Effective written communication skills with experience authoring scientific publications and presentations as well as lay educational materials
Clinical oncology and genomics background as a genetic counselor, nurse or physician is a plus
Ability to work independently, communicate proactively, manage multiple projects and prioritize daily tasks while managing critical deadlines
Excellent human relations and problem-solving skills
Willingness to demonstrate Oncocyte’s values by acting with integrity, respect, trust and possess a very positive attitude and an understanding of the dynamics involved with organizational growth and change

Experience & Education
Master’s degree or clinical equivalent in a scientific field of study such as genetic counseling, nursing, pharmacy, medicine or related health sciences field
2+ years of medical education/medical science liaison experience in supporting novel precision oncology and/or genomic tests highly desirable
Moderate (up to 30%) travel may be required, dependent upon COVID-19 safety considerations.
