Advanced Practice Registered Nurses / Physician Assistants
Position Summary: The Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) is to assist women in all stages of pregnancy, childbirth and post-delivery. They also work closely with obstetricians and gynecologists in diagnosing and treating women with acute and chronic illnesses. They will counsel and educate patients, conduct examinations and take detailed medical histories.
General responsibilities include:
Providing primary and specialty health care for women, including conducting physical exams and diagnosing, treating, and managing medical conditions.
Counseling and educating patients.
Providing support through perimenopause and menopause.
When specifically working with pregnant women, responsibilities include:
Providing pregnancy care by monitoring the health of the mother-to-be and her unborn baby.
Provide education, counseling, and prenatal care individualized to each woman.
Assist during labor and delivery.
Provide follow-up care for mom and baby after delivery, including advice on issues such as breastfeeding.
-Minimum of 3 years’ experience as CNM, required.
-Current licensure and certification in the State of South Carolina in good standing to practice as a Nurse (RN), required.
-Certified Nurse Midwife, required.
-American Heart Association Healthcare provider course with Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required to be initially completed with the TH Organizational Development Office within 30 calendar days of hire date (exceptions to obtain certification from a provider other than the TH Organizational Development Office are approved by TH Organizational Development on a case by case basis). BLS Recertification is required every two (2) years.
-Proficient with PC’s and Microsoft Office Software products, required.
-Excellent written and oral communication skills, required.
