JOB SUMMARY
The Director of Conifer IS Operations position has responsibility for the overall strategy, development, and operations of Business Intelligence teams (development and operations). Part of a larger collective team that support all aspects of IS Operations and Engineering, this role will lead Business Intelligence related support teams (Level 2 and Level 3) along with 1 � 2 agile teams that provide development support for the business. This position will align with Tenet Information Systems as well as other client IS Directors and executive-level leaders. The Director of IS Operations will work directly with the Conifer IS leadership team, including CIO, IS Business Partner for BI, VP for Analytics. They will also work closely with Enterprise Architecture, Infrastructure Operations, and Information Security to specify and document solutions and practices.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operations: Ensure successful daily operations of the Conifer BI production environment through strategic guidance and leadership over the Conifer BI Operations Teams.
- Development: Working with Product Owner and IS Business Partner, design, implement, and deliver various facets of the business Intelligence Roadmap using Agile methodology.
- Strategy: Working with business leaders, help to create a strategic plan for the future of Conifer�s BI technology assets
Qualifications:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES.
- Deep Experience with design, implementation, and operations of complete business intelligence technology stack. Direct exposures to not only the design / implementation aspect but also to the operational and strategic business cases are critical.
- Technology Needs include:
- Hadoop Experience
- Understanding of Impala/Hive ecosystem
- Spark understanding (preferably Spark 2.X)
- Columnar data storage
- Streaming
- Messaging (preferably Kafka but any messaging system would work)
- ETL
- Data ingest from different formats (file, csv, AVRO, JSON)
- Development understanding (preferably SCALA but Java would work)
- Data Ingest Tools (NIFI and Attunity would be nice to have)
- Database
- Understanding of Change Data Capture such as Apache NiFi, Attunity, etc.
- SQL Server
- Basic understanding of SSIS, Stored Procedures
- Master Data Management understanding (Knowledge of MS MDM Tool within SQL Server would be a plus)
- Reporting
- Understanding of reporting concepts (MicroStrategy would be preferred)
- Cubes, Live Query concepts
- Understanding difference between canned versus custom reporting
- Understanding of EDW concepts
- Schema structures (e.g. Star/Kimball, etc.)
- Strong understanding of SQL
- Understanding of cloud platforms such as Amazon Redshift, Azure Synapse, etc. is desirable.
- Expert in Agile methodologies using tools such as Azure Dev Ops.
- Diverse, multi discipline experience leading IT teams in different areas (e.g. networks, messaging, desktop management, storage, application support etc.) with proven track record of managing operations including management of SLAs, developing strategies, etc.
- Service Management implementation and planning including Service Level Agreements, Operating level agreements, Service Management coordination, and implementation

- ServiceNow platform experience is highly desired.
- Analyze business processes and recommend/direct technical solutions. Strong process improvement experience is required
- Six Sigma experience desired.
- Ability to successfully oversee numerous projects and applications simultaneously with little oversight or direction.
- Experience with outsourced providers in the delivery of IT services is required.
- Must possess strong experience with vendor management, financial administration / planning, team building and leadership, project/program management
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required in addition to the ability to effectively develop and deliver presentations to leadership.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
- A bachelor�s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS or related degree is required.
- Requires a minimum of 8 years� experience in the IT industry, preferably in healthcare
