Advanced Practice Registered Nurses / Physician Assistants
The Adult Behavioral Health team is comprised of two MD's and two NP's (one of which will be retiring in September). These MD's care for patients at our outpatient location as well as the adult inpatient unit in the hospital. We have a wonderful team of crisis counselors, social workers, chaplains, and case managers to support our patients. Recently added to the service line is a Behavioral Health Observation Unit in our Emergency Department to better serve the needs of our ED BH patients. Our entire patient care team is committed to providing the highest quality care while treating patients with highly complex conditions.
The PMHNP will develop and document a plan of care for each patient, administers appropriate treatment and/or referral, and may conduct occasional consults in ED and med/surg units when the inpatient NP is out of office. This APC will make informed diagnostic and therapeutic decisions based on patient information, current scientific evidence, clinical judgment and patient preference. The PMHNP will also prescribe and performs competently all medical procedures considered essential for the scope of practice. This position is based in the outpatient clinic setting, adult care only, but must be comfortable with occasional coverage of 9 bed adult inpatient unit.
Experience: 2+ years preferred.
Education: Master's Degree and certification as a Nurse Practitioner required.
