Position: Psychotherapist - LCSW or LMFT
Position Reports to: Behavioral Health Director
Status: Full-Time, Exempt, Position to start August 1, 2017
Statement of Purpose
The Psychotherapist (LCSW or LMFT) will provide assessments of clients who are in need of mental health services, providing individual and /or group psychotherapy as needed. Referrals will come from behavioral health clinicians, primary care providers, case managers and other Desert AIDS Project programs.
Provide comprehensive mental health assessments, including DSM-V diagnoses and treatment recommendations;
Develop a treatment plan in collaboration with the client, including short and long-term treatment goals;
Provide individual and/or group therapy as needed to clients with mental health and/or co-occurring disorders;
Monitor progress toward treatment goals;
Complete all documentation required by DAP, client’s insurance (if has insurance), in a timely manner;
Refer clients when appropriate for psychiatric evaluation, substance abuse evaluation, intensive out-patient programming, etc.;
All other duties as assigned.
Experience working with individuals with co-occurring disorders
2 years’ experience in a clinical setting working as a psychotherapist;
Familiarity working with electronic medical record;
Current Medicare provider.
Active and unrestricted California license as a clinical social worker or marriage and family therapist.
