The Cancer Registrar Supervisor is responsible for operation of the Cancer Registry to include coordination and supervision of Case-finding, Abstracting, Follow-up, Staging, Performance Improvement, Data Analysis, Administrative functions, Cancer Committee, Cancer Conferences and Data Management of all patients with malignancies, incorporating them into the SPHN Cancer Registry and reporting them to the State. This position also ensures that American College of Surgeons (ACoS) and Texas Department of Health requirements are met in their entirety for the Network Cancer Program.
Successful completion of 160 hours of work practicum in a CTR-Staffed Cancer Registry (CR). And, successful completion of a National Cancer Registry Association (NCRA) ï¿½ Accredited Associate Degree Program;
Successful completion of 160 hours of work practicum in a CTR-Staffed Cancer Registry (CR). And, successful completion of an NCRA ï¿½ Accredited Formal education Certificate program;
1950 hours (equal to 1-year full-time) experience in the Cancer Registry.
And, successful completion of a minimum of an Associate Degree or equivalent (60 college-level credits), including or in addition to, 2 Semesters of ï¿½Human Anatomy and Human Physiology.ï¿½
Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) and 2 years of Supervisory experience in an Acute Care setting.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills with physicians, clinical and ancillary management. Must multitask and prioritize work efficiently. Excellent computer skills. Basic mathematical skills. High degree of integrity, tact, diplomacy, and confidentiality.
