The Acute Applications Manager will oversee the assigned Clinical Application team(s). This work may include implementation (not limited to installation or configuration), transformation, optimization, upgrades, and post-live application support.The Acute Applications Managerhas responsibility for multiple large, complex projects with great impact to the enterprise, both hospital and ambulatory. Responsible for overall coordination, status reporting and stability of project oriented work efforts; including serving as communication liaison to physicians, nurses and clinical departments.
Utilize established project management processes and methodologies to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, adhere to high quality standards and meet customer expectations.
Responsible for assembling project plans and teamwork assignments, directing and monitoring work efforts on a daily basis, identifying resource needs, performing quality review; and escalating functional, quality, and timeline issues appropriately.
Responsible for tracking key project milestones and adjusting project plans and/or resources to meet the needs of customers.
In-depth knowledge and understanding of healthcare services, HIT, regulatory requirements, and clinical data management as to serve as integration and workflow expert.
Must possess collaborative working style and ability to develop/sustain productive work relationships with key stakeholders across all areas and levels of the organization as well as external consultants. Will have extensive relationships physician and nurse champion groups.
Demonstrate knowledge/understanding of health care operations and structure, clinical demands and procedures, department-specific policies and procedures and workflows, general requirements in an integrated delivery system, and use of information system applications in the practicing health care environment.
Establish metrics to track quality and effectiveness of support efforts. Generate dashboards and other documents to report on ability to meet targets associated with metrics. Establish processes to optimize teams ability to meet their metric targets.
Strong negotiation skills and the ability to influence others without direct lines of authority
RN, LVN, MA, RT, LT. Other clinical certifications may be substituted in cases of < 5 years' experience.
EpicCare Inpatient,EpicCare Ambulatory, Willow, or other clinical application certification (or proficiency), preferred.
A Bachelor's degree is required or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Masters degree in related field, preferred.
10 -15 years experience in an healthcare related environment, 5 yrs of which were in management or as a project manager leading large project teams.
Experience in directing or leading change preferred. Experience with Healthcare and/or technology strongly preferred.
Specific applications currently active at TMFHS, preferred.
Advanced Microsoft Applications; Excel and Word. Must be able to present complex data in meaningful method, ie, charts, graphs, etc. Project Management tools (i.e. MS Project or similar)
Advanced Microsoft Applications; specifically Project, PowerPoint and Visio. Reporting tools (Crystal, Cognos, etc), Practice Management systems, Advanced Excel preferred.
Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to adjust to and implement change; ability to analyze problems and identify solutions. Ability to multi-task and work as team member.
Ability to adapt to and effectively perform work functions in emergency and high stress situations preferred.
