Position Summary: Under the general direction of the department Director, the Operations Manager oversees and coordinates activities related to the case management function to further the goals and objectives of the department. S/he develops, implements, and maintains case management policies and procedures and assures compliance with case management referral procedures and processes. The Operations Manager assigns work through matrix structures, performs case management and disease management functions as necessary, and assists staff with the resolution of issues related to the case management function. S/he develops, implements and maintains case management programs to facilitate the use of appropriate medical resources, decrease financial exposure, and create productivity standards. The Operations Manager compiles and reviews multiple reports on work functions for statistical and financial tracking purposes to identify utilization trends, assist in reviewing analysis of activities, costs, operations and forecast data to determine progress toward stated goals. The incumbent monitors and reports on achievement of committed action plans; facilitates on-going communication between case management staff and other stakeholder including nursing staff and physicians; and serves as a primary contact regarding case management issues. To accomplish objectives, the Operations Manager leads by example to increase the desired culture, and partners with the Director and other department/organization leaders to create an effective organization structure, roles, and jobs. In conjunction with the Departmental Director, generates and implements an operational plan which is in alignment with WMHS' strategic objectives. Works collaboratively with other leaders throughout the System to achieve department and system-wide goals.
Education: Bachelors degree in Nursing or Business Administration required or must obtain within a timeframe determined by the appropriate Administrative Officer.
Licensure/Certification: Registered Nurse License from the State of Maryland.
Experience: A minimum of 3 years of Care Coordination experience preferred.
Skills: Strong communication, facilitation, and analytical skills are required.
