We are looking for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to lead the workplace accommodations program at MSK by facilitating patient care and return to work decision-making. In this role you will work as both a clinical provider and administrator to enable employees to remain at work or return to work safely and productively and in accordance with MSK policies, medical, legal, and cultural aspects.

Collaborate with employees and their managers, Human Resources (HR), Environmental Health and Safety, disability management and workers’ compensation vendor partners in conducting the interactive process and identifying reasonable accommodations to take forward.
Serve as accommodations representative on various MSK-wide committees, including training and development as warranted.
Establish protocols and training for and conduct employee return to work and stay at work evaluations.
Lead the Workers Compensation and Disability Management program, including maintaining up-to-date knowledge of workers’ compensation and disability regulations.
Oversee the management of complex cases and provide assistance to management in resolving difficult absence management issues.
Collaborate and interface with disability and Workers Compensation vendor(s) and local management to identify early return to work opportunities (employee accommodations) and help facilitate their implementation through the creation of return to work plans and consultation with local management and other benefits e.g., EAP, Wellness when possible.
Maintain appropriate case documentation and data on organizational activity and other metrics as required within MSK standards and protocols.
Track all accommodations involved with by employee and direct cost savings to company and business unit. Report out to local business units on metrics as appropriate.
Identify work-related injury trends and opportunities for prevention.
Work approximately 40% of schedule providing clinical services at MSK’s Employee Health clinic, such as return to work visits, assessments of fitness for duty, and management of work-related injury or medical illness.
Take night and weekend on-call responsibilities in rotation with other EH&WS clinical providers.
Actively participate on the MSK Safe Patient Handling Committee and other safety-related, cross-functional committees.
Work Monday – Friday 9am- 5pm.
Qualifications needed are:
Graduate degree from an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program
NCCPA or Nurse Practitioner certification
Active NYS PA or NP license or qualification for state licensure
At least 5 years of related experience in an occupational health role, leading absence/disability accommodations experience, and/or informatics
BLS and ACLS certification
