The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Division (CAMHD) of the State of Hawaii Department of Health has immediate openings for three child and adolescent psychiatrists to serve as psychiatrists in our community mental health system.
The East Hawaii Family Guidance Center is located in the beautiful town of Hilo on the Big Island of Hawaii and has two open psychiatrist positions.
The Family Court Liaison Branch is located in trendy Kailua on the island of Oahu and has one vacancy for a psychiatrist.
The successful applicant will join our multi-disciplinary treatment team and provide children’s mental health services in the Hawaii System of Care. CAMHD provides and manages treatment to populations of children, youth, and families identified via Medicaid/SEBD and IDEA criteria. CAMHD is committed to promoting CASSP principals and evidence-based practices (http://health.hawaii.gov/camhd/). The psychiatrist works closely with the clinical psychologist and care coordinator providing clinical leadership including consultation, assessment, direct services, and treatment planning. Our psychiatrists are strong team leaders who approach cases with cultural sensitivity and organize treatment around the family system.

Hawaii licensure as a D.O. or M.D., training in child and adolescent psychiatry with ABPN board certification in child and adolescent psychiatry preferred and earns additional compensation. Applicants must provide the required documentation to meet CAMHD credentialing requirements for employment in this position. Salary is highly competitive, based on education and experience, and also includes comprehensive State of Hawaii employment benefits and a generous retirement package. The successful applicant is eligible for clinical appointment within the Department of Psychiatry of the University Of Hawaii John A. Burns School Of Medicine.

CAMHD comprises Central Administrative and Clinical Services Offices, Management Information Systems Office, Healthcare Systems Management Office, Program Improvement and Communications Office and 8 Family Guidance Centers. There are approximately 200 employees in CAMHD. Each family guidance center is lead by one psychiatrist and one or more psychologists.
