Within the Department, the Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services Division (MHASD), manages resources for adults, adolescents and children with addictive disorders and mental illness. The mission of this program and the position of Case Manager 2 is to monitor and improve the availability of the MHC client's access to services that will support successful completion of court orders; provide support for stabilization of symptoms of mental illness/substance abuse and participation in community mental health program; assist in accessing those services that would best support the client to maintain safely in the community.
The position will provide engagement, transition and community support services for defendants selecting to participate in Mental Health Court.
As the Mental Health Court Monitor you will:
- Interview and screen defendants to determine level of mental health, chemical dependency, social services and suitability for community treatment. - Maintain up to 20 to 25 caseload - Meet with clients according to their court level and/ or as needed to engage and promote compliance with court orders or treatment recommendations. - Attend client staffing with community partners, court and co-workers as needed. - Participate in court staffing two (2) to four (4) times a month. Serve as a liaison between the court and behavioral health system. - Maintain documentation/ complete all reports and forms necessary regarding referrals, evaluations, and compliance with court orders, community treatment recommendations and communication with community partners. - Provide Judge and court with treatment and social services recommendations and consultation.

Minimum Qualifications/Transferable Skills:
Education/Training: Equivalent to an Associate's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in social science, behavioral science, or related field; AND,
Experience: Three (3) years of case management work experience
Preferred: Qualified Mental Health Associate (QMHA)
Other: Employment is contingent on passing a background check. May require valid drivers' license.
